First impressions are everything
Your hiring process is a candidate's first real experience with your organization. If it is slow, confusing, or disrespectful of their time, they will walk. Worse, they will tell others.
Communication is the foundation
The number one complaint from candidates? Being ghosted. Set up automated status updates at every stage of the pipeline. Even a simple "We are still reviewing applications" email keeps candidates engaged and shows you respect their time.
Make applying easy
If your application takes more than 10 minutes, you are losing people. Strip it down to the essentials: resume, a few key questions, and contact info. You can gather everything else later in the process.
Give feedback
Rejected candidates who receive thoughtful feedback are significantly more likely to reapply or refer others. It takes a few extra minutes but pays off in reputation and future pipeline quality.
Measure it
Send a short survey to candidates after each hiring process. Track your NPS score over time and use the feedback to improve. The agencies that obsess over candidate experience consistently outperform on quality of hire.
