Connect Claude to Crumblelead with MCP

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a secure way to let an AI assistant read and update your Crumblelead workspace. Once Claude is connected, you can ask it things like "how many candidates are in my pipeline right now?" or "add this person to the Sales Manager job", and it works with your real data.

Find your workspace address

In the left sidebar, click MCP & API.
Choose Let AI do your admin to open the Connect an AI assistant page.
Pick Claude. Your workspace address is in step 2, with a Copy address button.

Connect Claude

This works for Claude on the web, the desktop app and mobile. There is no key to create: you sign in with your normal Crumblelead login.

In Claude, go to Customize, then Connectors. Click +, then Add custom connector.
Name it Crumblelead, paste your workspace address and click Add.
Click Connect. A Crumblelead window opens: sign in if asked, then click Authorize.
Start a new chat and ask "how many candidates are in my pipeline right now?" If it answers with your real numbers, you are all set.

Free Claude plans can add one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds Crumblelead under Organization settings, then Connectors first, and each person then clicks Connect.

Using Claude Code

On the Connect an AI assistant page, pick Other tools and click Create key. Copy the key straight away: it is only shown once.
Copy the Claude Code command on the page. Your address and key are already filled in. Run it in your terminal.
Restart Claude Code and ask a test question such as "summarise my pipeline".

What Claude can do once connected

Claude works only within your current workspace and follows the same permissions you have in the app. In plain terms, it can:

Find and read records — search candidates, jobs and clients, open a full profile, see who is in each pipeline stage, and list your upcoming calendar events.
Add new records — create candidates, clients and jobs, including reading a CV or job description from a link and filling in the details for you.
Keep things moving — add a candidate to a job, move someone to a different pipeline stage, move a client to a different stage, add notes, and attach documents.
Report on performance — every user can ask about their own numbers. Company-wide figures such as total revenue, top clients and the consultant leaderboard are available to managers and admins only.
Remove records — delete candidates and clients, take a candidate off a job, or delete a job (a deleted job can be restored by an admin; deleted candidates and clients cannot).

Permissions and your team's data

Claude only ever sees the workspace you are currently in. It cannot see other teams' data. To point it at a different workspace, switch workspaces in Crumblelead.
Anything Claude does respects your role. If you are not allowed to do something in the app, Claude cannot do it for you either. Confidential jobs stay hidden unless you can already see them.
The connection needs an active workspace subscription. If a workspace subscription lapses, the connection stops working until it is renewed.

How to turn the connection off

If you connected Claude with your Crumblelead login: go to MCP & API, open API keys & connected apps and click Disconnect next to Claude. You can also remove the connector under Customize, then Connectors in Claude.
If you created an access key for Claude Code: on the same page, find the key and click the delete (bin) icon. Confirm when asked. The key stops working immediately.

FAQs

Do I need to be technical to set this up?
No. It is a few clicks in Claude and a window you approve. Only Claude Code needs a key and a command, and both are ready to copy.

Can Claude see my whole company's data?
Only the workspace you are in, and only what your role allows. Company-wide reports are limited to managers and admins.

Is this the same as the built-in Crumble assistant?
No. Crumble is built into the app and needs no setup. MCP is for when you would rather work inside Claude. See Using Crumble AI.

What if I lose my access key?
You cannot view a key again after it is created. Delete the old one from the API keys page and create a new one.
