Import candidates and clients with the LinkedIn extension

The Crumblelead LinkedIn extension is a free Chrome add-on that captures candidates and companies straight from LinkedIn into your workspace, including their headline, location, work history and profile photo. It saves retyping and keeps your database growing as you source.

Install and connect the extension

  1. In Crumblelead, click LinkedIn Extension in the sidebar, or the setup prompt on the Candidates or Clients page.
  2. Follow the link to the Chrome Web Store and choose Add to Chrome.
  3. Open the extension and click Connect with Crumblelead. Because you are already signed in to Crumblelead, it connects using your existing login, whatever method you normally use.
  4. If you prefer, use Use email & password instead, and enter your two-factor code if you have one turned on.

Once connected, a Crumblelead button appears on LinkedIn profile and company pages.

Import a candidate from a profile

  1. Open someone's LinkedIn profile page.
  2. Click the Crumblelead button that appears on the page.
  3. Optionally choose a job to add them to, or a talent pool. Then confirm the import.

Crumblelead captures their name, headline, location, current role and company, summary, work experience, education and profile photo. LinkedIn photos cannot be fetched by a server, so the extension sends the image itself, which is why photos come through reliably.

If the person is already in your workspace, you will be asked what to do: add them to the selected job, update their existing profile with the latest LinkedIn details, or create a duplicate. Matching is done on their LinkedIn URL.

Import a client from a company page

  1. Open a company's LinkedIn page.
  2. Click the Crumblelead button.
  3. Confirm to add the company as a client.

Crumblelead captures the company name, industry, headquarters location, website, description and logo. If the company already exists, the extension will tell you rather than create a second copy.

Roles and limits

  • Any signed-in team member can use the extension. There is no separate permission to switch on.
  • You need an active workspace. The extension does not work in demo workspaces.
  • Importing candidates supports adding to a job or talent pool and updating existing profiles. Importing clients adds new companies but does not merge into an existing one.
  • To disconnect, use the Disconnect the extension option in the setup dialog inside Crumblelead.

FAQs

Which browser do I need?
The extension is built for Chrome and installs from the Chrome Web Store.

Will it create duplicates?
No. For candidates it detects an existing match and lets you update instead, and for companies it tells you if the client already exists.

Do photos come across?
Yes. The extension sends the profile photo so it imports reliably, unlike a plain link.

Can I add someone straight to a job?
Yes. Pick a job (and optionally a talent pool) when you import a candidate, and they are added to the first pipeline stage.
